- Faith Snow received the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering’s Excellence in Leadership award and ECE’s Staff Member of the Year.
- She strengthened connections between students and industry by expanding career fairs, increasing participation and boosting employment opportunities.
- Snow also mentors students and created impactful initiatives like a standardized Malachowsky Hall tour.
Praised for her visionary leadership in connecting students to industry, the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering’s (ECE) Faith Snow was honored with two high-impact awards this month.
The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering awarded Snow, ECE’s industry coordinator, the staff award for Excellence in Leadership. Also in April, she accepted the ECE Staff Member of the Year award.
Both awards reflect Snow’s commitment to bridging ECE students to industry.
“Faith has become the driving force behind our industry engagement and student professional‑development programs, embodying the visionary, inspiring and collaborative leadership our Gator engineers strive to emulate,” noted ECE Chair Mark Tehranipoor in his nomination letter. “Faith transformed the career‑fair model. The 2024 Florida Career Fair attracted 21 companies and over 400 students, and the 2025 fair set a new record with 23 companies plus a virtual component that broadened statewide access.”
The results are more internships and job opportunities for ECE students.
“Faith’s ability to inspire collaboration is evident in the way she has built bridges between faculty, alumni and corporate leaders,” noted ECE Chief of Staff Shannon Chillingworth.
Snow also makes substantial student impacts as a mentor for the ECE Ambassadors. Additionally, Snow created a standardized tour of Malachowsky Hall that Chillingworth calls “a signature experience for prospective partners and visitors.”
Snow started at UF in 2022 and moved to ECE in 2024.
“I am truly humbled and honored to be the named for both of these awards,” Snow said. “It’s incredibly special to be recognized by the students who helped me grow in my role and who I’ve had the privilege of watching blossom academically and professionally. And I am humbled to be recognized by the college for all the work I do in advancing not only ECE but all Gator engineers.”
