Admitted Student Information

Congratulations on your admission to the graduate program in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida! You can find important dates for the upcoming fall semester on the UF academic calendar. Orientations will be held in early- to mid-August; we recommend that students arrive in Gainesville at least two weeks before classes start. Here are some things you’ll need to know for as you’re preparing to start your studies at UF:

GatorLink accounts

All new students should create a GatorLink account. You will log in to the ONE.UF system—where you will check your holds, register for classes, and pay your fees—using your GatorLink account. You can find information on creating your account here.

Holds

All students enrolling in on-campus degree programs will automatically have an immunization hold placed on their record. You can find instructions for lifting an immunization hold here.

You can find information on the general Graduate School orientation here. The ECE orientation schedule will be announced in mid-July. There will be a four-hour general orientation for new ECE students, and several question-and-answer sessions with the ECE graduate advisor. MS EDGE students are not required to attend orientation.

Academic information

Academic information for new graduate students can be found here.

Visa process

The ECE Student Services Office will request your I-20 from the UF International Center after you are admitted. You should receive an email confirmation when the I-20 request is placed. If you don’t receive the confirmation email by 72 hours after you receive your admission letter, please send us an email at office@ece.ufl.edu so we can check the status of your I-20 request. After the request is made, UFIC will take over the I-20 process. If you have a question about your I-20, please contact your UFIC advisor.
