Dr. Ivan Ruchkin is an assistant professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Florida, where he leads the Trustworthy Engineered Autonomy (TEA) Lab. He presents “Calibration Guarantees for Closed-Loop Safety Chance Prediction” Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 3:00pm in NEB 589.

Dr. Chris H. Kim is the Louis John Schnell professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering with the University of Minnesota. He presents “Quantum-inspired Ising Chips for Solving Hard Optimization Problems” Thursday, Nov. 16 at 10:30am in LAR 234.

Dr. Payam Heydari is the University Chancellor’s Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the University of California-Irvine. He presents “Novel mm-Wave/Terahertz Integrated Circuits and Architectures for High-Speed Communications” Monday, Nov. 13 at 1:00pm in LAR 234.

Dr. David Arnold is leading a project funded by the Florida DoE aimed at developing a pre-baccalaureate workforce strategic plan to support the growing semiconductor industry in the State of Florida.

Dr. Wenqian Xue is a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Florida. She presents “Data-Driven Model-Free Inverse Reinforcement Learning for Linear Systems” Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 3:00pm in NEB 589.

John L. Volakis is the Dean of the College of Engineering and Computing at Florida International University (FIU), and a Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept. He presents “Ultra Wideband Millimeter-Wave Simultaneous Transmit/Receive Radios” Thursday, Oct. 26 at 1:00pm in LAR 234.

ECE Chair Mark Tehranipoor received the 2023 Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) Aristotle Award.

Dr. Ludwig is the Co-Director of the Wisconsin Institute for Translational Neuroengineering (WITNe) and leads the Ludwig Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin within the WITNe structure. He presents “Lessons in Translation: Accelerating the Path to Market for Neurotechnology” Thursday, Nov. 9 at 1:00pm in LAR 234.
