Dr. Jing Wang is a Professor and the Director of Center for Wireless and Microwave Information Systems (WAMI) in Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of South Florida. Najme Ebrahimi is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan. She presents “Next Generation of Smart Wireless World: from High Data-Rate Mm-wave Scalable Phased-Array to Efficient IoT Connectivity for 5G and Beyond,” Thursday, Jan. 30 @ 1:00 pm, LAR 330.

Shreya Saxena is currently a Swiss National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University’s Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute. She presents “Neural control of movement: How we move fast, why we fail, and how we can design interventions,” Thursday, Jan. 23 @1:00 pm in LAR 330.

Azra Bihorac, M.D. is the R. Glenn Davis Professor of Medicine, Surgery and Anesthesiology in the Division of Nephrology, Hypertension, & Renal Transplantation at the University of Florida. She presents “Augmented Decision Making – How to Implement Machine Learning Prediction into Research and Clinical Care” on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 1:00 pm, in LAR 330.

Senior Design Expo was held Dec. 5 in the lobby of the New Engineering Building (NEB). ECE Florida luminaries were on hand to do a final round of judging, with the top five teams winning cash prizes.

The inaugural Annual Warren B. Nelms IoT Conference was held in Gainesville on Dec. 3-4. The conference brought together notable individuals from the worlds of academia, industry, and government to discuss innovations in IoT security, safety, intelligence, and interoperability.
