In the inaugural Nelms Institute for the Connected World Seminar, Dr. My Thai (UF CISE) presents “LiteConnect: Lightweight Frameworks for IoT Empowered by Blockchain” on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 1:00. Dr. Thai also serves as the associate director for the Nelms Institute for the Connected World.

Donna Davis is the Director of MS Ethics & Compliance for Northrop Grumman Corporation. She presents “Engineering Ethics – Workplace Risks & Remedies” on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 1:00 p.m. in Larsen 310.

Joydeep Mitra is Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Michigan State University, East Lansing. He presents “Energy Assurance with Renewable Generation” Thursday, Oct. 25, 1:00 p.m., Larsen Hall, Room 310.

Christophe Bobda presents “Reconfigurable 3D Pixel-Parallel Neuromorphic Architecture for Smart Image Sensors,” Thursday, Sept. 20, at 1:00 p.m. in Larsen 310.

At 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6 in the Pugh Hall Ocora, John Harris, chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, will discuss UF’s role as an emerging leader in the Internet of Things.   

Farimah Farahmandi is a post-doctoral associate in the Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering (CISE) at the University of Florida. She will present “System-on-Chip Design and Validation for Emerging IoT Devices” on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 1:00 p.m. in Larsen 310.

ECE Florida alumnus Adelmo Ortiz-Conde (M.E. ’82, Ph.D. ’85), currently with the Solid State Electronics Laboratory, Simón Bolívar University, Caracas-Venezuela, will present “On Diode and Solar Cell equivalent circuit model lumped parameter extraction procedures,” Wednesday June 13 at 11:00 am in Larsen 234.

UF students and faculty will have the opportunity of attending a five-day immersive course teaching the fundamentals of LabView, June 25-29 in the New Engineering Building (NEB). The course normally costs $3500 but will be offered for free to UF students.
