Dr. Emiliano Dall’Anese is an Associate Professor in the ECEE Department at the University of Colorado Boulder. He presents “Advancing AI and Automation via Learning-based Online Optimization and Control” Monday, Feb. 26 at 1:00pm in LAR 234.

ECE Associate Professor Navid Asadi recently received $2.6M of funding from the NSF for “Track 2 Acquisition of a Novel Performance-Driven 3D Imaging System for Extremely Noisy Objects (NPIX).” NPIX system will be able to capture images of objects with complex geometries while doing so with minimal noise.

Dr. John Goodenough is currently an advanced fellow in integrated SoC design at the University of Sheffield. He presents “Super Mario and SoC Plumbing” Thursday, Nov. 10 at 1:00pm in LAR 234.

ECE Florida is excited to welcome the newest member of our faculty, Dr. Baoyun Ge. He officially starts as an assistant professor on May 15.

Dr. Jeremiah Blanchard is a faculty member in the Department of Engineering Education at the University of Florida, where he focuses on computer science education and research in human-computer interaction in education. He presents “Decision-Making Architecture in Game AI” Thursday, Feb. 4 at 1:00pm via Zoom.

Dr. Roarke Horstmeyer is an assistant professor of biomedical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, and physics at Duke University. He presents “Intelligent Biomedical Imaging Devices” Thursday, March 18 at 1:00 via Zoom.

Dr. Damon Woodard has accepted a position as Director of AI Partnerships for the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.

A team of researchers from ECE Florida and IFAS has received a $1.2M grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that combines machine learning, hyperspectral cameras, and minirhizotron tubes to nondestructively study root systems of plants.
