UF Team Works to Create Most Resilient Sensor on Earth

A diverse team led by three ECE Florida faculty members is set to receive funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to design and fabricate dynamic pressure sensors capable of performing at temperatures upwards of 800 °C (1472 °F), over a factor of 6X higher than any integrated pressure sensor currently in use.

Dr. Evelyn Hu is the Tarr-Coyne Professor of Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering at the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard. She presents “‘Rediscovering’ Semiconductor Materials: A Focus on Imperfections” Friday, Sept. 23 at 11:00am at the Reitz Union Chamber.

Tabrizian Receives Prestigious DARPA Director’s Fellowship Award

Assistant Professor Roozbeh Tabrizian has been selected to receive a  2021 DARPA Director’s Fellowship, following his receipt of the 2019 DARPA Young Faculty Award (YFA).

UTokyo Collaborates with IMG, MIST

September 11, 2019

ECE Florida and Professor Y.K. Yoon recently hosted a group of eight graduate students from the Graduate Program for Mechanical Systems Innovation (GMSI) at the University of Tokyo in Japan. The visiting students collaborated with UF students from IMG and the MIST Center.

Mark Sheplak Takes the Helm at IMG
