Silvia Ferrari is the John Brancaccio Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University and associate dean for cross-campus engineering research at Cornell Tech. She’ll present “Information-driven Robot Planning and Control” Thursday, Nov. 21 at 2:00pm in the NVIDIA Auditorium in Malachowsky Hall.

Four ECE Faculty Receive 2024 DURIP Awards Supporting Defense-Relevant Research

The US Department of Defense (DoD) recently announced the 2024 funded DURIP projects under the DURIP. ECE Florida faculty submitted a number of proposals and four were ultimately chosen for funding.

Koppal Uses Bio-Inspired Cameras to Improve UAV Imaging

Dr. Sanjeev J. Koppal has received $1M in funding from the Office of Naval Research (ONR) in support of his project “Rapid High-Resolution Target Aerial Detection and Tracking through Deep Foveated Imaging.”

Zare’s $1.2 Million Award Brings Machine Learning to Plant Root Science

A team of researchers from ECE Florida and IFAS has received a $1.2M grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that combines machine learning, hyperspectral cameras, and minirhizotron tubes to nondestructively study root systems of plants.

ECE Big Ideas Seminar: Sanjeev Koppal & Roozbeh Tabrizian

In a style similar to TED talks, ECE presents two short, 15-minute seminars on Sept. 10. Dr. Sanjeev Koppal and Dr. Roozbeh Tabrizian will both present talks which explore their recent research in the areas of computer vision and nano-mechanical devices, respectively.
