Ivan Ruchkin, PhD, and José Príncipe, PhD, are collaborating on an NSF-funded project aiming to create an end-to-end methodology to model, analyze, quantify, detect, and adapt to changes in the visual environment of an autonomous cyber-physical system.

Dr. José C. Príncipe is a Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida. He presents “Uncertainty Quantification for Trained Machine Learning Models” Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 3:00pm in NEB 409.

Dr. Daniel Silver is a professor in and former director of the Jodrey School of Computer Science, Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He presents “Lifelong Machine Learning and Reasoning” Friday, Feb. 25 at 1:00pm via Zoom.

ECE Distinguished Professor Jose Principe has been notified by the Council of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) that he has been elected to the rank of AAAS Fellow.

ECE Distinguished Professor José Príncipe was recently notified of his election to the rank of Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.

Distinguished Professor José Príncipe was recently informed that he is the winner of the 2020 IEEE Signal Processing Society’s Claude Shannon-Harry Nyquist Technical Achievement Award “for fundamental contributions to adaptive learning systems.”

Distinguished Professor José Príncipe was recently awarded an NSF grant in support of development of a low-cost smart multi-patient ventilator system. Working with Príncipe on the technology is ECE alumnus (MS ’88 PhD ’98) Dr. Neil Euliano, president and founder of Convergent Engineering.

The fund honors Donald D. “Don” and Ruth S. Eckis.
