Tabrizian Honored as Rising Star

Dr. Roozbeh Tabrizian has been selected to be inducted as a 2024 Rising Star by the Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine of Florida. The organization honored Tabrizian for “pioneering advancements in semiconductor nano-electro-mechanical systems enabling transformative innovations in microwave spectral processing and precision timekeeping.”

UF Team Works to Create Most Resilient Sensor on Earth

March 19, 2024

A diverse team led by three ECE Florida faculty members is set to receive funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to design and fabricate dynamic pressure sensors capable of performing at temperatures upwards of 800 °C (1472 °F), over a factor of 6X higher than any integrated pressure sensor currently in use.

Tabrizian Receives Prestigious DARPA Director’s Fellowship Award

Tabrizian Receives 2020-21 Khargonekar Award

Dr. Roozbeh Tabrizian was recently notified that he is the recipient of the 2020-21 Pramod P. Khargonekar Award for the most outstanding junior faculty member undergoing tenure and promotion review this past fall.

Tabrizian and Bhunia Develop Clandestine Wireless ID Tags

November 25, 2020

In a new paper published in Nature Microsystems and Nanoengineering, a team led by Dr. Roozbeh Tabrizian and Dr. Swarup Bhunia has demonstrated a novel product-labeling approach based on resonant nano-electro-mechanical systems (NEMS).

ECE Big Ideas Seminar: Sanjeev Koppal & Roozbeh Tabrizian

In a style similar to TED talks, ECE presents two short, 15-minute seminars on Sept. 10. Dr. Sanjeev Koppal and Dr. Roozbeh Tabrizian will both present talks which explore their recent research in the areas of computer vision and nano-mechanical devices, respectively.

Tabrizian to Receive DARPA Young Faculty Award

Assistant Professor Dr. Roozbeh Tabrizian is set to receive a DARPA Young Faculty Award for 2019 for his proposal, “Ferroelectrically Transduced Ge Nano-Fin Bulk Acoustic Resonators for Chip-Scale Instinctually Adaptive RF Spectral Processing.”
