ECE Distinguished Professor Mark Law is collaborating with the Army Research Office and Johns Hopkins University on a newly-funded project, “Superior Superconducting Josephson Junctions with 400°C Processing Temperature.”

ECE Assistant Professor Ivan Ruchkin has received funding from NSF for his project “Neuro-Symbolic Bridge: From Perception to Estimation & Control.” The project aims to enhance the robustness of cyber physical systems (CPS).

ECE Assistant Professor Ivan Ruchkin has been awarded $250k in funding from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in support of his project “Provable Resilience for Visual Terminal AI Guidance.”

Jie (Jack) Zhang is a Research Scientist at the Picower Institute for Learning and Memory and the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT. He presents “High-speed Image Sensor and Systems for Resolving Millisecond-Scale Neural Dynamics Underlying Behavior” Monday June 24 at 2:00pm.

ECE Associate Professor Hamed Dalir was elected as a Fellow of the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the field of nanomaterials science and technology with dedication to indium thin oxide (ITO) and graphene for high-speed applications.

Dr. Farimah Farahmandi has been named as the inaugural holder of the Walden C. Rhines Endowed Professorship for Hardware Security. Farahmandi is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and also serves as the associate director of the Florida Institute for Hardware Security (FICS) Research.

Yangbin Wang (MSEE ’93) has been presented with the Distinguished Alumnus Award at the University of Florida Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering Spring 2024 bachelor’s recognition ceremony. Distinguished alumnus awards are presented to an alumna or an alumnus of the university who has excelled in their chosen field and has performed outstanding service for the university.

Department leadership proudly inducted the inaugural class of the ECE Hall of Fame at a gala celebration held in Malachowsky Hall on Monday, April 22.
