ECE FLORIDA is excited to host an engaging event on Tuesday, April 23. As part of our annual External Advisory Board meeting, Sachio Semmoto Chair of ECE Mark M. Tehranipoor will moderate a panel discussion featuring many of the luminaries inducted into the ECE Hall of Fame the previous evening.

The UF chapters of IEEE, HKN, and WECE hosted the 2024 Spring Banquet on Tuesday, April 16 at the Reitz Union. As is traditional at the gala student-run event, both departmental awards and student-choice awards are presented to students, faculty, and staff in the department.

ECE Florida is honored to host Dr. Walden (Wally) Rhines for an informal Q&A session Monday, April 22 at 11:00 am in the Nvidia Auditorium in Malachowsky Hall.

Dr. Shadi Dayeh is a professor in the ECE Department at the University of California-San Diego. He presents “Mapping the Human Brain with High Spatiotemporal Resolution” Thursday, April 18 at 1:00pm in LAR 234.

Dr. Markondeyaraj Pulugurtha is an associate professor at Florida International University. He presents “Heterogeneous Power, RF, Digital and Sensor Component Integration Technologies with Advanced Packaging” Friday, April 19 at 1:00pm in MALA 5050.

Dr. Linghao Song is a postdoctoral researcher in UCLA Computer Science Department. He presents “Domain Specific Accelerators: From Architecture Design to System Prototyping” Wednesday, April 10 at 1:00pm in MALA 5050.

Dr. Sohrab Aftabjahani is a senior staff security researcher and product security expert with the Data Center Group at Intel Corporation. He presents “Introduction to IEEE 3164 Standard for Security Annotation for Electronic Design Integration (SAE-DI) based on Accellera SAE-DI and a New Approach to Identifying Security Assets Within an IP” Thursday, April 11 at 1:00pm in LAR 234.

Dr. Premjeet Chahal is an associate professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Michigan State University. He presents “Heterogeneous Integration Through Advanced Packaging – Advances, Opportunities and Challenges” Monday, April 1 at 1:00 in MALA 5050.

A team of ten UF researchers, led by Dr. Yong-Kyu Yoon, is supporting 1 of only 10 NSF Engines: “Central Florida Semiconductor Innovation Engine.”

Representatives from multinational wireless and micro devices company Qorvo will be at the University of Florida on Thursday, March 28. Students will have the chance to learn more about the company and talk directly to Qorvo engineers.
