In a style similar to TED talks, ECE presents two short, 15-minute seminars on Sept. 10. Dr. Sanjeev Koppal and Dr. Roozbeh Tabrizian will both present talks which explore their recent research in the areas of computer vision and nano-mechanical devices, respectively.

Dr. Prabir Barooah is a professor in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida. He presents “A Statistical Characterization of Capacity of Virtual Batteries from Flexible Loads” Thursday, April 9 at 1:00 pm via Zoom.

Power system planning and simulation veteran Hala Ballouz presents “The New Distributed Energy Frontier: Challenges and Opportunities in Planning for Our Evolving Power Grid” Thursday, April 16 at 1:00 pm Via Zoom.

Jun-Chau Chien is currently a staff research engineer at the Electrical Engineering Department at Stanford University. Previously, he held industrial positions at Xilinx, InvenSense, and HMicro in 2012, 2015, and 2017, respectively. He presents “Advancing Precision Medicine and Precision Health with CMOS-enabled Continuous Monitoring of Molecules, Cells, and Beyond,” Thursday, March 26 @ 1:00 pm via Zoom.

Siheng Chen is a research scientist at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories. He presents “Graph-structured data science for autonomous driving” on Thursday, April 2 at 1:00 pm via Zoom.

Dr. Jing Wang is a Professor and the Director of Center for Wireless and Microwave Information Systems (WAMI) in Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of South Florida. He presents “3D-Printed mm-Wave Devices and Circuits for System-in-a-Package Applications” Thursday, Feb. 27 at 1:00 pm, LAR 330.

Deven Desai is a professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Scheller College of Business. He presents “Data-Driven Innovation and the Law,” Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 1:00 pm in LAR 234.

Najme Ebrahimi is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan. She presents “Next Generation of Smart Wireless World: from High Data-Rate Mm-wave Scalable Phased-Array to Efficient IoT Connectivity for 5G and Beyond,” Thursday, Jan. 30 @ 1:00 pm, LAR 330.

Shreya Saxena is currently a Swiss National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University’s Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute. She presents “Neural control of movement: How we move fast, why we fail, and how we can design interventions,” Thursday, Jan. 23 @1:00 pm in LAR 330.
