‘On the right track’: Student AI researcher wins HiPerGator Early Career Award

A College of Engineering master’s student has earned the HiPerGator Early Career Award for his contributions to artificial intelligence research through the Florida Institute for National Security (FINS).

UF Engineering teams take top honors at Mission Autonomy Hackathon

Two University of Florida teams earned top honors and a combined $35,000 in awards at the Mission Autonomy Hackathon, a national competition hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

ECE PhD Student Receives Prestigious MTT-S Fellowship

Asif Iftekhar Omi, an ECE Ph.D. student working with Dr. Baibhab Chatterjee, has been selected to receive the IEEE MTT-S Graduate Fellowship for Medical Applications, among the most prestigious of accolades in microwave engineering.

Powered by the Sun, Solar Gators Race from Nashville to Wyoming

Following their national championship in 2023, UF student racing team Solar Gators placed fourth in the 2024 Formula Sun Grand Prix and qualified, for the first time in their history, to compete in the Electrek American Solar Challenge.

Good Times and Awards at the 2024 ECE Spring Banquet

The UF chapters of IEEE, HKN, and WECE hosted the 2024 Spring Banquet on Tuesday, April 16 at the Reitz Union. As is traditional at the gala student-run event, both departmental awards and student-choice awards are presented to students, faculty, and staff in the department.
