UF’s SolarGators placed first in the 2023 Electrek Formula Sun Grand Prix, held June 27–July 2 at Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, KS.

A team of ECE and MAE students have traveled to Topeka, Kansas to compete in the 2022 Formula Sun Grand Prix hosted at the Heartland Motorsports Park.

Senior Design Expo is a chance for ECE students to present their capstone design projects. Usually created in teams of two, these projects are the culmination of the undergraduate ECE experience.

ECE PhD student Ayobami Edun, advised by Dr. Joel Harley, has been selected for induction into the Edward A. Bouchet Graduate Honor Society. Once again as the semester came to a close, ECE students showcased their Senior Design final projects in the New Engineering Building rotunda. The Fall 2021 Senior Design Expo was held on Thursday, Dec. 9.

The UF Summer Research Experience was a special opportunity for high school students to get involved in STEM-related research at UF. The two-week virtual research experience provided insight into two potential future fields of study for the students: robotics & artificial intelligence.

The ECE department recently added academic tracks to its graduate curriculum. This pilot program offers students the opportunity to specialize in a particular area of electrical and computer engineering—an incredibly broad and expansive field—without the addition of a minor or a certificate of study.

ECE 4th year PhD student Brandon Parks was recently informed that he is the recipient of a prestigious T32 Fellowship from the Neuromuscular Plasticity (NMPT) Program, funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
