Laura Kim Works to Create Light-Matter Hybrid Quantum Building Blocks

Laura Kim, Ph.D., has been awarded a DARPA Young Faculty Award in support of her project “Room-Temperature Strong Coupling in Intercalated 2D Plasmonic Systems.” The $500,000, two-year project seeks to unlock quantum phenomena that have traditionally remained exclusive to cryogenic temperatures, bringing them into room-temperature environments by using layered nanoscale materials that confine light with extreme precision.

Tabrizian Receives Prestigious DARPA Director’s Fellowship Award

Tabrizian to Receive DARPA Young Faculty Award

Assistant Professor Dr. Roozbeh Tabrizian is set to receive a DARPA Young Faculty Award for 2019 for his proposal, “Ferroelectrically Transduced Ge Nano-Fin Bulk Acoustic Resonators for Chip-Scale Instinctually Adaptive RF Spectral Processing.”

GatorWings Team Is One of Six Winners in Phase 2 of DARPA Spectrum Challenge

Following Team GatorWings’ initial top-ten showing at Phase 1 of the DARPA Spectrum Collaboration Challenge (SC2) in 2017, the team came in fifth place overall in the second preliminary event in the competition.

ECE Florida Team Places in Top 10 at DARPA Grand Challenge, Receives $750K
