Dr. Edson Bortoni is a professor and the president (Rector) of the UNIFEI, Itajubá, Brazil. He presents “The Meaning of Energy Transition for the Brazilian Energy System” Thursday, Oct. 7 at 1:00pm via Zoom.

Dr. Pablo Gomez is an associate professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Western Michigan University (WMU). He presents “Contemporary Challenges of the Transient Analysis and Electromagnetic Design of Power Grid Components and Systems” Thursday, Sept. 23 at Noon via Zoom.

Dr. Josep M. Jornet is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University. He presents “Conquering the Terahertz Band for 6G Systems: From Theory to Practice” Thursday, Sept. 30 at 1:00pm.

The UF Summer Research Experience was a special opportunity for high school students to get involved in STEM-related research at UF. The two-week virtual research experience provided insight into two potential future fields of study for the students: robotics & artificial intelligence.

The ECE department recently added academic tracks to its graduate curriculum. This pilot program offers students the opportunity to specialize in a particular area of electrical and computer engineering—an incredibly broad and expansive field—without the addition of a minor or a certificate of study.
