Representatives from National Instruments—a global manufacturer specializing in hardware, software, and electronic test equipment—will sponsor a series of activities in Malachowsky Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

Monolithic Power Systems, manufacturer of small, highly energy efficient, easy-to-use industrial power management solutions, will dedicate a named lab space in Benton Hall on Thursday, Oct. 2. The newly renovated lab space is designed to strengthen the department’s research and teaching capabilities in the area of power electronics, while enhancing opportunities for collaboration.

“Apple SoCs:Roles & Skills Required” will outline Apple’s strategy for navigating the end of traditional semiconductor scaling by designing custom, heterogeneous Systems-on-a-Chip (SoCs). It details the complete chip design lifecycle, from initial architecture and functional design to post-silicon validation and production.

Matthew Matheny, PhD, helped found the Center for Quantum Computing at Amazon Web Services, where he managed the project for their first prototype quantum chip, Ocelot. He is currently the Device Team Manager for AWS CQC in Pasadena, CA, building the next-generation devices for their quantum hardware. He presents “A Logical Qubit Built from Dissipatively-Stabilized Schrödinger Cat Qubits” Friday, April 18 at 11:15am in 1000 Malachowsky Hall.

John Oakley is a science director at the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC). He presents “SRC’s Microelectronics and Advanced Packaging Technologies (MAPT) Roadmap: Driving a New Era of Innovation in Semiconductors and Digital Twins” on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 1:00pm in MALA 5050.

Dr. Chet Lenox is Fellow and VP of the Industry and Customer Collaboration (ICC) Team at KLA. Bryan Crawford is the KLA Nanoindenter Product Marketing Manager. They both present on Friday, Nov. 8 beginning at 11:45am in MALA 7200.

Noted cybersecurity technology corporation Systems & Technology Research (STR) will visit the University of Florida campus on Thursday, Oct. 3, providing an opportunity for students to learn more about the company and employment opportunities there.

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS)will present a technical talk providing background and tech details about the company and employment opportunities on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 11:00am in MALA 5050.

A team of Apple engineers will participate in a panel discussion at 4:00pm on Thursday, Sept. 12 in the NVIDIA Auditorium in Malachowsky Hall.

Representatives from multinational wireless and micro devices company Qorvo will be at the University of Florida on Thursday, March 28. Students will have the chance to learn more about the company and talk directly to Qorvo engineers.
